Women wearing ‘noken’ on their head in a funeral, Baliem Valley, Papua, Indonesia.
Made of fiber from the inner bark of a type of mulberry tree they are finger woven net bags, noken are used to carry just about everything: vegetables, books or even kids and piglets together. When not in use as a bag they are worn on the head like a snood.
By 2011, noken has been nominated as Unesco’s Urgent Safegurading of Intangible Heritage for concerns that this hand made bag is soon to be extinct.

At this festival will be displayed a unique cultural heritage, such as  War Dance on the boat and other traditional dances from various exists  tribe in Jayapura.
